Pepe Reina vows to stay with Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is determined to see out his long-term contract and bring the good times back to the club. The 28-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a move away from Merseyside with Arsenal and Manchester United touted as possible destinations. The Reds are stuck in the bottom half of the Premier League after just seven wins from 22 games but Kenny Dalglish replacing Roy Hodgson as manager has given the place a lift. And Reina insists he would not want to be anywhere else. Aiming high: Reina is convinced Liverpool can bounce back to the top He said: 'I signed a new contract last summer and still have more than five years left to run on it. 'Obviously, I want to be part of a team that has the chance to win the title, win major trophies and to play with the best players - but I expect that to happen here at Liverpool, and for the club to return itself to that level. I plan to stick with my contract. 'There have been moments when we've not played well, where it's been difficult to stay upbeat and positive, but this is football - and you have to fight every day to become a greater team. 'When things have gone badly for us, I've tried my best to do my bit to improve the team - there is no point being sad, so I've tried to be positive at all times. 'We are sailing on the same ship and we all want the team to produce the results which we're capable of. 'All I can do from my position is support my team-mates and play my own part.'  Dalglish ready to splash the cash as Liverpool bid to wrap up Suarez dealAll the latest Premier League team news for January 22-24Dad's death left a huge gap, but he'd want me to play on, says Cohen Club-by-club guide to every Premier League transfer deal during January All the latest Liverpool news, features and opinion  Explore more:People: Kenny Dalglish, Roy Hodgson, Pepe Reina Places: Liverpool
