Bursaspor delay their bid for Rangers striker Kenny Miller
Waving goodbye? Miller is set to leave Rangers Rangers are still waiting on an offer from Bursaspor for Kenny Miller - despite the striker's agent opening talks over a possible £50,000-per-week move. Miller's representative, David Baldwin, flew to Turkey on Sunday for discussions about a lucrative deal with the club who were group rivals to Rangers in this season's Champions League. The Ibrox outfit have already accepted a £600,000 offer from Birmingham City for the player - plus another £500,000 if Alex McLeish's side beat the Premier League drop - but are yet to receive any contact from Bursaspor. It means there would have to be rapid developments for Miller to have departed the SPL champions before they host Inverness Caledonian Thistle tomorrow night. Sections of the Ibrox support were unhappy when the Scotland striker appeared to pull out of a lunge with Hamilton defender David Elebert during Saturday's 4-0 win over Accies. Team-mate Steven Whittaker insisted, however, that Miller will give his all for the team if that weekend outing does not prove his last for Rangers. 'He's got a great attitude and has proven that over the years he has played,' said Whittaker. Persistent: McLeish said after Sunday's derby that he still wants to sign Miller 'He closes down defenders and works hard for the team. I'm sure he would continue to do that no matter what. 'I don't think it's a big thing for the boys, whether there is a quick decision or not. 'If Kenny is here, then he is a quality player to be part of the team. We would like him to play if he is here.' McLeish has made several improved offers to Miller since Rangers accepted his bid 10 days ago, but the player has continued to show a reluctance to move to the Midlands. After yesterday's 1-1 derby draw with Aston Villa, however, McLeish insisted he had not yet drawn a line under his pursuit of the 22-goal striker. Fiorentina's interest has cooled after they failed to agree to Rangers' asking price, while fellow Serie A side Brescia have also been linked. Bursaspor, though, can offer a salary to dwarf rivals for Miller's signature, with Rangers hoping the Turks will now submit a suitable offer and bring a conclusion to the saga.
