Alvaro Negredo on Liverpool radar as Reds weigh up £17m bid for Spain striker

Speculation: Sevilla and Spain striker NegredoLiverpool are considering a bid for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, according to reports in Spain. The AS newspaper claim that the Reds are prepared to offer around £17million for the 25-year-old forward. Negredo has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past when, as a Real Madrid player, the Spanish giants were trying to tempt Xabi Alonso to the Bernabeu. Hull City and Tottenham have also been linked with Negredo. A strong, quick attacker with a superb left foot, Negredo has six goals for the season. He made his Spain debut in October 2009 but was left out of the squad for the World Cup in South Africa last summer. Negredo's more famous countryman Fernando Torres continues to be linked with a move away from Liverpool.Kenny Dalgish refused to be drawn on specific ins or outs for the January transfer window since taking over after the departure of Roy Hodgson as boss. 'We brought in Steve Clarke (as first-team coach) and settled the place down, making sure Sammy Lee (assistant manager) knew he was staying,' said Dalglish. 'The other people that are important to us are the people who are here and we look after them. 'That is more important than worrying about what might happen or who might come in. 'What is immediate for us is the staff and players we have working together and the people know who they are there will do their very best to do that. 'If someone comes up who is attractive to the club then fine but at this moment there have not been any conversations about that. I couldn't tell you definitively whether there will be people coming in.'  Kenny Dalglish lines up Blackpool star Charlie Adam in bid to reignite troubled season at AnfieldClub-by-club guide to every Premier League transfer deal during JanuaryLiverpool to battle Man United for £10m-rated starlet Oxlade-ChamberlainDalglish to call on past experience to help striker Torres out of his rutAll the latest Liverpool news, features and opinion  Explore more:People: Xabi Alonso, Roy Hodgson, Fernando Torres Places: Liverpool, Spain, South Africa
