Knill plays down Vale link

Bury boss Alan Knill admits he is flattered by speculation linking him with the vacant managerial post at promotion rivals Port Vale. Vale are searching for a new boss following the departure of Micky Adams to npower Championship outfit Sheffield United. Knill`s name has been linked with the Vale Park hot-seat and he said: "Apparently I am 8/1 to go to Port Vale. It's good and nice to be recognised. "Port Vale are a decent club, they are a big club in this division, a bit like Bradford City, but I am contracted to Bury Football Club. "It's as simple as that, I have another year left after this season. This says that we are going okay, we must be doing something right. "It's a reflection not just on me, but on my team, my players and my staff."
