Lee Bowyer faces FA probe over stamp on Bacary Sagna

Lee Bowyer could be hit by an FA charge after stamping on Bacary Sagna. The Birmingham midfielder planted his studs into the right-back's leg during Arsenal's 3-0 victory at St Andrews on Saturday. The incident went unpunished because it was not spotted by referee Peter Walton - but Bowyer could now be banned for three matches if the FA find him guilty of violent misconduct. Robin van Persie scored from a free-kick which Birmingham believe should not have been awarded after the Dutchman tumbled 25 yards out. Bowyer is a key man for Birmingham as they attempt to claw their way out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone.Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger preferred not to highlight Bowyer's actions after the game. He said: 'I do not want to talk too much about that because I haven't seen any replays. During the game, it was very difficult the challenge on Fabregas (by Roger Johnson) and Sagna (by Bowyer). I will watch that again and give you my opinion later.'McLeish said that he 'did not see it' when asked about Bowyer's alleged stamp in his post-match press conference.end Birmingham 0 Arsenal 3: Sparkling Gunners fire warning to title rivalsBirmingham 0 Arsenal 3 - All the action as it happenedBIRMINGHAM CITY FC
