Hutchings bemoans Saddlers showing

Walsall manager Chris Hutchings hopes that the 19 days without a match during the freeze-up was the reason behind his side`s poor performance against Notts County. Goals from Craig Westcarr, Lee Miller and Krystian Pearce gave the Magpies victory. Hutchings, who again had to contend with some of the home fans chanting "Hutch out", said: "Before the break we had won at Charlton and played particularly well. "This was a very disappointing performance, especially after the way we had performed in that win against Charlton. We gave three goals away and Jonny Brain (the Walsall keeper) should have saved the first one and the second was a free header. "In-between that Steve Jones should have scored and that might have got us back into the game. We need to take those chances." Asked how he felt with the pressure on as his team struggled against relegation, Hutchings replied: "Defeat is a defeat and it was not only me but the players who got booed off. Everyone has got to look at themselves."
