Bury manager Alan Knill could be missing Tom Lees and David Worrall because of flu for the visit of Macclesfield.
The pair have been struggling with a virus over the festive period and Knill admits they are doubtful.
Knill is still undecided about whether to call on goalkeeper Cameron Belford following his recovery from a fractured cheekbone.
The loan of Lees from Leeds has been extended until the end of the season, giving the Shakers a major boost as they bid to secure promotion from npower League Two.
The Gigg Lane outfit lie third in the table, despite not playing since December 11, and Knill said: "The foundations are there now - we have put ourselves in a strong position."
