Cesc Fabregas's Twitter moan at inconsistent referees after Arsenal denied penalty

Cesc Fabregas has hit out at inconsistency among referees, insisting that Arsenal were denied a last-gasp penalty at Wigan for an identical offence to the handball he committed against Tottenham earlier this season. The Gunners were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw at the DW Stadium on Wednesday night but were denied a last-minute penalty when Samir Nasri's freekick appeared to strike the hand of James McArthur in the Latics' defensive wall, only for  referee Lee Probert to wave away Arsenal's protests. Fabregas, who missed the match through suspension, was penalised for handball in the 3-2 defeat at home to Spurs when he too was struck on the arm by the ball when in a defensive wall at a free-kick. Slip-up: Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at Wigan that dented their title hopesAnd Gunners skipper Fabregas said on his Twitter account: 'What's the difference between this handball and my one versus Spurs? Referees don't want us to complain about them but they make life difficult for themselves. 'I'm not complaining at all, I'm just saying why on the same thing some refs say it's a penalty and some not. Is it a rule or just what they feel?' Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also felt his side should have won the spot-kick, saying: 'I personally did not see it but Nasri is adamant it was a 100 per cent penalty.'  Handball: Cesc Fabregas gave away a penalty against Spurs for this offence Jose Mourinho joins the chase for Cesc Fabregas by launching £35m swoop for Arsenal's captainWenger defends wholesale Arsenal changes after slip-up at WiganWigan 2 Arsenal 2: Gunners title hopes dented by 10-man LacticsArsenal kid Nordtveit completes switch to struggling MonchengladbachARSENAL FC
