West Brom striker Ishmael Miller inspired by Nedum Onuoha to beat injury blues

West Brom striker Ishmael Miller says he has taken inspiration from former Manchester City team-mate Nedum Onuoha in overcoming his two-year injury nightmare. On the ball: West Brom striker Miller is looking to get over his injury bluesMiller watched Onuoha recover from a series of setbacks with City and is now making a key contribution on loan at Sunderland. The Baggies marksman has been dogged by various problems since suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in a challenge with the then Portsmouth keeper David James in November 2008.But Miller hopes his problems are finally behind him, and he impressed as a substitute against Aston Villa a fortnight ago.Miller said: 'A lot of people have had bad injuries and got over them.'You kind of find strength from how they've done it.'I was at Man City with Nedum Onuoha and he had one bad injury after another.'He went through what I've been going through. I used to think 'how the hell did he get through that?''But he is playing now and doing great at Sunderland and things like that drive you on.'Miller added: "Before I did my knee a couple of years ago, I never got injured.'The most I was out was maybe two or three weeks for little niggles. Shining example: Nedum Onuoha has impressed on loan at Sunderland this season'I never had a major injury before the knee. Hopefully now I can be injury-free for the next four or five years.'I'm still only 24 and hopefully got a lot of years ahead of me. Hopefully 2011 will be better than 2010.'  It's all in the head for football-crazy West Bromwich Albion star ScharnerBolton v WEST BROMWICH: Peter Odemwingie available for AlbionWEST BROMWICH ALBION FC
