McCarthy: Places up for grabs

The Wolves boss has been pleased with the progress his side has made during pre-season and was satisfied with their performance in the 1-1 draw at Doncaster on Saturday with Matt Jarvis on target. And McCarthy revealed his starting line-up at The Keepmoat may not be far off the one that will face West Ham on August 16.However he has challenged his players to put themselves in the frame over the final few pre-season friendlies."I said to them before the game, they are fighting against me to play against West Ham, they are fighting against themselves and each other," McCarthy told the club's website."I will pick the best 11 regardless of the transfer ticket or the name. It doesn't bother me, I will pick the best 11 that I think."There are two more games to play before the season starts and there is room to disrupt someone's position."I was pleased with the performance today. I thought we were very good in the first half but in the second half their goal changed it but we should have been a goal up before that. Besides that we were excellent."We created a lot of chances but we didn't take them, but I am not too worried about that."I have seen pre-seasons when there has been a glut of goals and they have dried up when the season has started, so lets hope we are saving them up."
