Gyan back in Sunderland starting line-up

ASAMOAH Gyan has returned to Sunderland's starting line-up for this afternoon's home game with West Ham United. The Ghana international replaces Bolo Zenden in the only change to the side that lost 3-2 at Wolves last weekend. Gyan will play alongside Darren Bent in attack, meaning Danny Welbeck returns to the Black Cats' midfield despite a string of impressive performances up front. Welbeck is expected to line up on the left of midfield, with newly-capped England international Jordan Henderson on the opposite flank. Kieran Richardson will play alongside Lee Cattermole in central midfield, with John Mensah once again partnering Anton Ferdinand at the heart of the back four. SUNDERLAND (4-4-2): Gordon; Onuoha, Mensah, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Henderson, Cattermole, Richardson, Welbeck; Gyan, Bent. Subs: Mignolet (gk), Angeleri, Da Silva, Riveros, Malbranque, Zenden, Elmohamady. WEST HAM (4-4-2): Green; Ben Haim, Upson, Gabbidon, Tomkins; Dyer, Spector, Parker, Boa Morte; Cole, Obinna. Subs: Stech (gk), Reid, Barrera, Kovac, Faubert, Hines, Piquionne.
