Tom Hicks and George Gillett go back to court to seek compensation over sale of Liverpool FC

George Gillett and Tom Hicks LIVERPOOL FC's former owners are going back to court in a move that could pave the way for them to sue the club's new owners for damages.Tom Hicks and George Gillett will be represented in court in February against New England Sports Ventures, now the Fenway Sports Group, RBS and former Anfield chairman Martin Broughton. The case is listed to start on February 9, 10, or 11.The Americans will ask for the dismissal of an anti-suit injunction, that was taken out when Hicks launched a £1bn lawsuit in Dallas trying to halt the sale of the club in October. The hearing will be before Mr Justice Floyd, who ruled a £300m deal with NESV could go ahead. After losing control of the club, Hicks claimed NESV's takeover was an 'epic swindle' and said he was stunned that it had been allowed to go ahead. The application to have the suit discharged, which currently runs indefinitely, is a sign that the Americans have not accepted the sale that saw them lose £140m.The suit overturned a restraining order in Texas where Hicks and Gillett lodged a claim for $1.6bn damages from the English directors at Anfield - along with lenders Royal Bank of Scotland and successful Liverpool bidders NESV - claiming they were undervaluing the price of the club and disregarding other, allegedly higher, offers.Keith Oliver, from London-based solicitors Peters and Peters, said: 'It is hoped that the hearing will enable the dispute between the various parties to be unravelled and the way forward to be determined.'
