NEWCASTLE midfielder Kevin Nolan will miss this afternoon's Premier League home game with Chelsea after suffering an ankle injury. Despite more overnight snow in the North-East, today's game goes ahead after the St James' Park ground staff worked through the night to make the pitch playable. But Nolan will not feature after suffering an ankle injury in training, with his place at the heart of midfield going to Danny Guthrie. Guthrie will play alongside Cheik Tiote, who returns to the side following suspension, with Wayne Routledge and Jonas Gutierrez lining up on the flanks. With Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson both suspended following events in last weekend's 5-1 defeat at Bolton, Steven Taylor will partner Sol Campbell at the heart of the Newcastle defence. Both players are making their first Premier League start of the season, and they will attempt to contain a Chelsea attack featuring Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka, Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda. NEWCASTLE (4-4-2): Krul; Simpson, Campbell, S Taylor, Enrique; Routledge, Tiote, Guthrie, Gutierrez; Carroll, Ameobi. Subs: Soderberg (gk), Perch, Kadar, Smith, Best, Ranger, Lovenkrands. CHELSEA (4-3-3): Cech; Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Alex, Cole; Ramires, Mikel, Malouda; Kalou, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Turnbull (gk), Ferreira, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Kakuta, McEachran, Sturridge.
