Giles Coke and Lewis Buxton are hoping to be in contention for Sheffield Wednesday's home FA Cup clash with Northampton.
Midfielder Coke missed the midweek win over Walsall due to a knee problem while defender Buxton has been nursing a hamstring strain, but both could feature in the second-round tie.
Manager Alan Irvine has no new injury or suspension worries but will still be without defender Jon Otsemobor as he continues to recover from a calf injury sustained against Hartlepool earlier this month.
Striker Marcus Tudgay, who has featured off the substitutes' bench in recent weeks, has completed a loan move to Nottingham Forest until January.
Wednesday comfortably overcame Blue Square Bet Premier side Southport 5-2 at Haig Avenue in the first round.
