Cherries: Colchester visit on Sky television

Cherries are set to receive a welcome cash boost after one of their League One fixtures was selected to be broadcast live. The Dean Court outfit's match at Colchester United is to be screened by Sky Sports, a move which will give the club prime-time exposure, as well as a handy windfall. Colchester, as the host club, will receive a £30,000 broadcast fee, with Cherries getting £10,000. Due to Sky's decision to show the third tier clash, the game will now be played on Friday, January 14, with a kick off time of 7.45pm. It is the second occasion Cherries have been handed airtime by the broadcaster this season after their 1-1 draw at Brighton was also screened. Eddie Howe's men will be out to gain revenge against Colchester, who ruined Cherries' long-standing unbeaten home record by claiming a 2-1 victory at Dean Court last month. John Ward's side are flying high in League One and the teams sit level on 26 points in the play-off zone. Meanwhile, midfielder Joe Partington was last night set to captain Wales under-21s in their home game against Austria. The homegrown talent, who is on loan at Conference outfit Eastbourne Borough, is the second of Cherries' youth team graduates to gain international recognition this week, after Josh Mc-Quoid's Northern Ireland call-up.
