Davis wary of dangerous Dons

Steven Davis believes the pressure will be off Aberdeen when they travel to Ibrox to take on Rangers on Saturday. The Dons face the daunting task of another trip to Glasgow just seven days after suffering a club record 9-0 defeat against Celtic.A midweek loss to Inverness succeeded only in heaping further pressure on their manager Mark McGhee, before the board eventually gave him a vote of confidence. But, with few backing Aberdeen to resurrect their fortunes immediately with a win against Rangers, Davis warned they could be more dangerous than ever."I think we will get our usual game against Aberdeen," said the midfielder."In many ways, for them, it gives them a little bit of a breather coming to Ibrox."Probably a lot of people are not expecting them to come here and get a result."There has been a lot of pressure on them recently and it maybe gives them the chance to come and set out their stall and try and get a result."That will make it even more difficult for us and we will be aware of that."Aberdeen often save their best performances for games against Rangers, but Davis says the same applies to most teams in the SPL.He added: "Any team in the league, when we play against them, raises their game."We have definitely found that over the course of the last couple of seasons."There is obviously a bit of rivalry between Aberdeen and ourselves as well, so we expect another difficult game."While Aberdeen will be seeking a much-needed morale boost, Davis knows boss Walter Smith will demand a positive reaction from his own players tomorrow. The Scottish champions suffered their first SPL defeat of the season to a struggling Hibernian side in midweek, after being held at Ibrox by Inverness.Davis said: "You are going to get these disappointments throughout the course of the season and it's really about how you react to them."It was a disappointing result against Inverness and the Hibs game has added to that, so we need to put together a good run of results again."Even the draw against Inverness felt like a defeat and we know the last couple of performances haven't been up to scratch."It's important we get back to playing the way we know we can and get the results as well."
