Britton strives for consistency at Sheffield United

Sheffield United midfielder Leon Britton has admitted that his performances since joining the club have not been up to his usual standard. The 28-year-old, who ended his seven-year stay at Swansea to sign for the Blades on a free transfer in the summer, has made 17 appearances this season, but his form has mirrored the club's erratic league showing. Britton told the Sheffield Star: "I'd like to be more consistent week in, week out. "Sometimes I've been good, sometimes I've been pretty average. But the main thing now is that we start doing well as a team. "It's not about individuals doing well. It's about sticking together as a group and winning games." The Blades have scored only 13 goals in their first 17 league games this season and Britton added: "We're looking to put that right. If we can score some goals it gives us a greater chance of winning games - it's pretty simple."
