Griffith worry for Vale

Port Vale will check on the availability of Anthony Griffith ahead of their FA Cup first-round replay against Dartford. The midfielder was on the end of Abdul Osman`s lunge which resulted in the Northampton man being shown a straight red card in Saturday`s goalless draw, and was subsequently forced off at half-time nursing a shin injury. He is one of two doubts for manager Micky Adams who faces the replay at Vale Park having seen his side scramble home a late equaliser nine days ago to claim a 1-1 draw and deny their Blue Square South opponents a memorable giantkilling. Influential defender Lee Collins missed altogether out at the weekend due to shin splints and will also be assessed. On-loan forward Jake Speight, who sustained a late calf injury ahead of Saturday`s league game, is ineligible for the cup competition. Adams could opt to include top scorer Marc Richards after he returned to action at Sixfields having missed the initial encounter against Dartford due to a knee injury. Returning duo Lewis Haldane and Rob Taylor may find two games in the space of four days a bit too much having featured on Saturday.
