Adams frustrated with missed chances

Port Vale boss Micky Adams was left to rue his side's profligacy after 10-man Northampton held out for a goalless draw at Sixfields. Abdul Osman was dismissed for a foul on Anthony Griffith on the stroke of half-time but Vale failed to capitalise on a host of chances after the interval. "That was a story of our season," said Adams. "We looked very strong defensively and created chances but didn't take them. "We've got to be disappointed not to pick up the extra two points but all credit to Northampton who defended stoutly in the second half. "Sometimes it's difficult against 10 men, they get all the players behind the ball and you have to be careful that you don't get caught on the break. "There are a lot of positives still to come out of the game. We had several players coming back from injury, we've not lost and we've kept a clean sheet to keep the run going."
