Rovers defender Adam Lockwood hopes to be fit for Swansea

Doncaster Rovers defender Adam Lockwood will sit out today's Championship encounter at Portsmouth with a broken toe Broken toe victim Lockwood hopes to make quick Rovers comebackBut the centre-back is hoping that the game against last season's beaten FA Cup finalists will be the last one he misses with the injury he picked up in the Sunday 'warm down' following last month's match at ScunthorpeAfter an X-ray failed to show up a break, Lockwood - who had a pain-killing injection prior to both games - came off the bench against Derby and Sheffield United. But when the injury, thought to be just bad bruising, failed to respond to treatment and rest, Lockwood was sent for a second X-ray which revealed a crack."I'm hoping to given the all-clear on Monday and if I do then I'll resume training and could possibly come into contention for the home game against Swansea next Saturday," said Lockwood. "l'll have to wait and see."Lockwood had hoped that his foot problems were behind him after suffering separate breaks last season."It's frustrating to be missing games because you want to be out there helping the lads, but these things happen in football," he said.Looking ahead to today's game, Lockwood feels that Rovers can pick up a first ever win at Pompey as they travel to Fratton Park for the first time in nearly 30 years, despite the hosts impressive record in recent weeks. They suffered their first defeat since September at the weekend at Derby, but were unlucky not to beat leaders QPR midweek - the visitors needing a disputed penalty late in the game to snatch a 1-1 draw."They've been on a good run of late and we've picked up four points in our last two games, so both teams will be confident," he said. "But past results count for nothing; it's all on the day."We've prepared well and we know what to expect and hopefully we can go there and pick up a win."But they have got a lot of players who have played in the Premier League, so it's going to be toug
