Foster thanks scout for big break

irmingham goalkeeper Ben Foster has admitted ahead of tonight's clash at Stoke that he owes his career in football to one of their scouts. Foster was working as a chef and playing non-league football for Racing Club Warwick when spotted by Colin Dobson.Foster joined Stoke and, although he never played a game for them, earned himself a switch to Manchester United before joining Blues via a loan spell at Watford.Foster is in outstanding form and produced a superb save to deny Carlton Cole in the weekend draw with West Ham, but he knows it might have been all different had he not been spotted by Dobson.Foster said: "I was working as a chef in addition to training on a Tuesday night and playing on a Saturday."There was a scout called Colin Dobson who worked for Stoke but was living in Warwick."One night, he's told me, he saw some floodlights, stopped off and had a little watch of the game - and I caught the eye."That was it. He made a note of it and came to watch me a few more times and things went on from there."I see him all the time. I have got his phone number. I owe it all to him."He's still at Stoke I think. I need to invite him round when I move house."Foster is hoping he can maintain his personal 100% success record at the Britannia Stadium. He said: "I've played at the Britannia before, and I haven't conceded a goal yet either."I think I've won every game there as well - 2-0 with Watford and United. Hopefully it's a good omen."Foster admits he is enjoying life at Birmingham after his £6 million summer switch from Old Trafford. He said: "At Birmingham now, it's just like my days on loan at Watford. It really is. I absolutely love it here."It's a proper football club, with proper lads. I am just enjoying coming into work, getting regular football."Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has no fresh injury worries with Colin Doyle again acting as Foster's deputy on the bench in place of Maik Taylor who has a shoulder problem.McLeish is considering handing a start to winger Jean Beausejour who has recovered from a knee problem after he impressed as a substitute against the Hammers.
