Albrighton secures new Villa contract

Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract which commits him to the Midlands club until June 2014. The 20-year-old Academy product made his full Premier League debut on the opening day of the campaign against West Ham and has established himself as a first team regular.Albrighton has impressed new Villa manager Gerard Houllier, who has been quick to tie up his services on a long-term basis via the new deal. The only downside for Albrighton was being suspended for last Sunday's derby against local rivals Birmingham. He had been sent off in the previous game against Burnley in the Carling Cup for a professional foul and had to serve a one-match ban.Houllier confirmed: "The contract with Marc is until 2014. Marc has stepped up very well to the first team."Everything is about attitude - and his attitude is an example."He was devastated after being sent off against Burnley but he went to play for the reserves this Monday after being suspended for Sunday."Kevin McDonald (reserve team coach) told me his work rate was fantastic, that his attitude and effort was an example."When you have the talent and the attitude, the commitment, looking after yourself, working hard in games.it means a lot. He enjoys playing."
