John Mousinho scored twice as Stevenage piled on the misery for bottom-club Barnet with a 3-0 victory in the Hertfordshire derby at Underhill.
Boro captain Mark Roberts claimed their other goal as they saw off a bright start by the hosts to stroll to victory and move up the table.
There were escapes at both ends in the first four minutes with Barnet's Mark Hughes having a speculative effort headed off the line by Lawrie Wilson, while Jake Cole then tipped Mousinho's shot from point-blank range onto the bar.
Mousinho then gave the visitors the lead after 27 minutes with a rasping low drive into the bottom corner that gave Cole no chance.
Stevenage doubled their advantage six minutes later when a Ronny Henry free-kick was headed across by Michael Bostwick and Roberts slid the ball in after Ben May could not get a touch.
Grant Basey saw a free-kick saved by Stevenage goalkeeper Chris Day before Mousinho sealed the points from the penalty spot after Jordan Parkes was penalised for handball.
