McGhee warning over Falkirk tie

Mark McGhee anticipates Aberdeen to be in for a difficult evening in their Co-op Cup quarter-final clash with "SPL club in waiting" Falkirk. Aberdeen had claimed one point out of a possible 18 in the Scottish Premier League prior to last Saturday's 4-2 defeat of Hibernian. And although the Dons boss admits his side are favourites for the tie against Irn-Bru First Division side Falkirk, who were relegated last term, he is taking nothing for granted."The Premier League rightly should be expected to come through against lower league opposition," said McGhee."But we know how difficult a game it will be so we're under no illusions whatsoever."I think Falkirk will in all likelihood win the league."They're an SPL club in waiting as it were and I think they find themselves out of the division unluckily."Zander Diamond and Yoann Folly could be asked to play through the pain barrier tonight after picking up ankle injuries against Hibs, with the Dons already depleted - Andy Considine (knee) the latest casualty.McGhee is optimistic defender Diamond and midfielder Folly will play."I'm hopeful those two will make it," he said."We'll be asking them to push the boat out a wee bit."You're in a bit of discomfort, get some anti-inflammatories into you, grit your teeth, because we need you out there."Falkirk boss Steven Pressley is optimistic ahead of the trip to Pittodrie, following his side's 5-1 defeat of Queen of the South last Saturday.Pressley said: "Our performance in the 5-1 win at Queen of the South on Saturday was excellent."I am sure that display will have given Aberdeen plenty to think about."Our confidence is good and it is a game that we are looking to win."
