Pearson wants return to form

Hull boss Nigel Pearson is hopeful his side can return to winning ways when they take on Portsmouth at the KC Stadium. Pearson watched as his side produced a poor performance on the way to a 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United in midweek and Pearson is glad to have an early opportunity to rectify the problem. He told the club's official website: "The way I`m looking at this performance is to see whether we can improve our own performance. "Sheffield United came here for a point and got three. That`s annoying and we gifted them a goal. With games like that, if you can`t win them you make sure you don`t lose and that is something we have managed to do at home this season. "It will be a tough game and Portsmouth have some good players. They`ve had one or two good results of late and we`ll have to be near our best to beat them. "We`ve got to be more positive. If we get a win it changes the complexion, but we`re at the wrong end of the table which isn`t what we are looking for."
