Kompany confident of title challenge

Vincent Kompany feels Manchester City's victory over Blackpool has underlined their title credentials. The Blues were pushed hard by the plucky Seasiders on Sunday, with Roberto Mancini's men far from their best during a 3-2 win at Bloomfield Road.Blackpool were able to frustrate free-spending City for long spells, while dominating substantial periods of the game themselves.City's class shone through in the end, though, with talismanic skipper Carlos Tevez bagging a brace and David Silva adding a spectacular solo effort to see them to three points.Title challenges are built on such results, with the ability to grind out wins when not at your best the mark of potential champions."Offensively it was hard for us at times, but you can see that Carlos just needs a moment to make all the difference," Kompany told City's official website."But he helps everyone, and although our performance was not bad, Blackpool played well. They were at home, so these are three very, very good points away from home."These are the sorts of places where you have to come and win. "United have lost points at home, Arsenal did a while ago so you cannot underestimate any other side in this league and that's why we have to be really happy with the three points at Blackpool."We respected Blackpool before the game and that's why it's a good win."The way it is going now, there's no reason why we should rule ourselves out, and we are two points behind Chelsea, three clear of the rest so we'll see."The game against Arsenal (on Sunday) is definitely a benchmark game. The team, fans and myself, we're all looking forward to that one."
