Cahill eyes more England action

Gary Cahill is happy with his form at the Reebok Stadium and hopeful it will keep him in contention for further England recongnition. Cahill made his debut for England when he came on for the injured Michael Dawson in the 4-0 victory against Bulgaria at Wembley in September. The defender was again included in Fabio Capello's squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro last Tuesday and the 24-year-old hopes to keep his place for future games. He told the club's official website: "Obviously I love being away with England."I'm looking now, with my performances for Bolton, to edge myself in there every time a squad is announced."Some of the lads in my position have got unfortunate injuries which keep reoccurring, so if I can stay fit and keep performing like I did on Saturday then hopefully I will be knocking on the door."The centre-half may be happy with his form, but he is not happy with his lack of goals and hopes he can put that right in the near future."I feel that I'm getting closer to scoring a goal," he said."I've had a little bit of disruption this season with my ban and I sat out of the Carling Cup ties. I've missed a few games but I feel like I'm knocking on the door."
