Tranmere chief executive Mick Horton has hailed Dale Jennings' rise through the ranks at Prenton Park as further evidence of the club's successful youth policy.
The 17-year old youth scholar joined Tranmere's Centre of Excellence two years ago and was this week handed a professional contract until June 2012.
The striker made his first team-debut against Charlton this season and has made five more appearances since, scoring the winning goal at Bristol Rovers.
Horton said: "Dale is the latest player to progress through our successful youth development programme and yet another example of the talented young footballers the club is producing."
