Sears loaned again
Young West Ham striker Freddie Sears has again left the club on loan, joining Championship side Scunthorpe. Sears has struggled to hold down a first-team squad place after making an impressive breakthrough two seasons ago. Since then he has made only fleeting appearances for the Hammers in-between loan spells at Crystal Palace and Coventry City. With current strike partners Victor Obinna and Freddie Piquionne in good form and both Carlton Cole and Benni McCarthy waiting on the bench, Sears is best served gaining more first team experience at a competitive level. Sears should make his debut for Scunthorpe this evening against Preston.
