Adkins: Give credit to Huddersfield

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins admitted Huddersfield deserved their 2-0 win as his side went down to their first defeat under his management. Anthony Pilkington scored his fourth goal in three games and Joey Gudjonsson was also on target before the break. Adkins said: "We gave two poor goals away but you have to give credit to Huddersfield for their first-half performance. "The second half was a massive turning point. The Huddersfield defender (Lee Peltier) blocked one from Guly Do Prado just after the restart and if that had gone in it would have been a different game. "Huddersfield were 2-0 up and had something to hold onto in the second half. I want us to play football but we must learn we can't go away from home and expect to have a divine right to pass the ball about. "At times teams that like to play football can be masters of their own downfall. I still expect us to be up there, along with Huddersfield, at the end of the season."
