Cherries: Ings getting physical boost at Magpies

Cherries teenager Danny Ings believes he is learning about the physical nature of senior football and hopes to feature as a central striker after extending his loan at Dorchester Town. The first-year professional this week sealed a further month at the Avenue Stadium following his initial spell with Cherries' Dorset neighbours. Ings, 18, will now continue his education with the Conference South outfit, while he is set to make his fifth Magpies appearance in tomorrow's FA Cup tie at Havant and Waterlooville. He told the Echo: I've learned a lot about the physical side of things. Playing reserve games is not as tough as first-team football and, even though it is lower leagues, it is a lot tougher. It's a really, really good experience, which is why I extended the contract. He added: In the first game, when I started on the left, I had a really strong game. But then the next two games I wasn't as prolific on the wing, so the manager moved me up top later in the games and I've become more of a threat there. Hopefully, he will see that and give me more time up front. Dorchester boss Ashley Vickers told the Dorset Echo: Danny is one of those lads who has a lot of belief in himself, but not in an arrogant way. He wants to be involved and I know he will work his socks off for us. Danny would like to play up front more often and he will probably get that chance tomorrow as Giuseppe Sole is unable to play.
