Liverpool FC fans have their say on the takeover

* TAKE part in our LFC takeover survey hereAlwaysRed: TO MESSRS Broughton, Purslow and Ayre, stick to your guns, almost mission accomplished. For the first time in a while you must be able to sense a turn in the tide of the support you have. All true LFC supporters are right behind you on this one.Der_Retter: I would love to see a revamped 60,000-seater Anfield. I'm not a big fan of new stadia if the older ones can be redeveloped. MrFitz: The sheer delight I feel inside to see Hicks and Gillett make a huge loss is overwhelming.Well done on a magnificent stroke of genius by Broughton, Ayres and Purslow. What price would a video of that board meeting fetch? It would go down in Liverpool folklore!Spirit_of_Biscan: 'Cautious optimism', like the SOS said, is the best way to look at it I reckon. We're hearing all we heard last time, but for some reason it sounds convincing again this time round.Lubanski: Wouldn't it be just grand if Hicks were declared bankrupt after he's been booted out?The wine would flow and there would be dancing in the streets.Kopout: They had their doubters from the outset, but Messrs Broughton, Purslow and Ayre have stuck to their terms of reference throughout. While all around them (myself included at times) were deluded with ideas of covert plans that would ensure Hicks and Gillett survived with a profit, the board members held their nerve to bring us the solution we have all wanted for so long.Des2009: Be wary, be very wary. Broughton is still a banker - albeit supposedly brought in by Hicks and Gillett - he is still a banker with allegiances to the banking fraternity. It is possible he is only trying to get back the money owed to RBS etc.Liverpool8: If we are only going to have a 60,000-seater stadium we should extend Anfield - it is revered by so many.GerryMc: If the players can show the same level of steel on the pitch as the directors have shown off it then we will once again conquer the world.Redjonmik: My fear is that this will rumble on like a bad smell.I can envisage Hicks, and to a lesser extent Gillett, refusing to accept any judgment that does not go in their favour - appeal after appeal, taking it to America and anywhere else that might give them a sympathetic ear.Red4Ever1965: Time and divine mercy are what we need now - divine mercy as we need to pass the last hurdle of a court case and an appeal, time for the new owners to come and show what they are all about.Scousepaul10: Anfield could easily be extended to accommodate 70,000, never mind 60,000. This is the most realistic idea.Moving from Anfield to a new stadium should only happen if we decide to go to 80,000.RedFlyer: I've been chatting to a lot of Red Sox fans. Most of them think Hicks and Gillett are pirates as well - they are sports speculators not developers, and that is the big difference to the Red Sox fans.
