Marouane Chamakh shocked after making instant impact at Arsenal

Marouane Chamakh admits he is suprised at how quickly he has taken Arsenal by storm since a summer move from Bordeaux. The Morocco striker is confident Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will make him a better player and insists it was an easy decision to quit France for the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer. Chamakh has scored four goals in 10 appearances and looks the kind of handful that Arsenal have lacked up front since Emmanuel Adebayor's departure to Manchester City last year. Big hit: Chamakh has taken no time at all to settle in to life with the Gunners'I am extremely happy with my choice and I am surprised how well it has started for me,' he told Sky Sports. 'I have settled very well on and off the pitch and I have been made very welcome by everyone at the club.' There was no shortage of interest in the 26-year-old as his Bordeaux contract ran down - particularly from English clubs - but he said: 'There were other offers, but the fact I loved Arsenal since I was young made my decision easy.'Arsene Wenger also had a major influence in my decision to join Arsenal. I think I have a margin of progress to make and I think Arsene can make me a better player.' The 6ft 2in striker believes his physical style is a perfect fit for the hustle and bustle of the Barclays Premier League. 'I feel my game is well-suited to English football and all I want to do is help Arsenal,' he said. 'English football is much more athletic and goes much quicker and the supporters are very impressive.'   Balotelli set to torment Arsenal as recovering City ace eyes debut dateRamsey confirms he is set for a November return after leg-break horrorRefs need to protect us from players like De Jong, insists Arsenal's NasriArsenal are chasing Lukaku, admits Anderlecht wonderkid's agentARSENAL FC
