Hill won't let Dale standards slip

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has urged his side to `kick on' following their excellent start to the season. The League One newcomers have got off to a flyer in English football's third tier, currently lying in fifth position having gained 16 points from their opening ten games. However, Dale put in a disappointing display in their first away defeat on Saturday, losing 1-0 to Exeter, and Hill says he will not tolerate a repeat performance. He told the Manchester Evening News: "If you had offered me this points tally and position at the start of the season I would have taken it, but now we've got it we want to kick on and make the most of the start we've had. "There's no point getting the start that we've had and then resting on our laurels. Maybe that was one of the reasons for the performance at Exeter, perhaps we over-estimated our ability in this league. "The players have done exceptionally well. That was one performance I was not too happy with and it's the only one I've not been happy with so far, even though we did get beaten by Colchester. We will try to work out why that was, we will ask the players and then look for a response, and I'm sure we'll get a positive one."
