Inter Milan set to test Tottenham's resolve to keep Gareth Bale by offering Sulley Muntari as bait

Inter Milan are ready to explore Tottenham's interest in Sulley Muntari by offering the midfielder as bait in a bid to sign Gareth Bale. Harry Redknapp has made it clear he does not want to lose emerging Wales star Bale, but that has not stopped interest from across Europe in the 21-year-old. Rafa Benitez knows all about the ex-Southampton player's talents and the former Liverpool manager is keen to add a versatile player who can solve Inter's shortage at left back. The Ghana international was offered to Liverpool as part of a bid to sign Javier Mascherano, but the Merseysiders were stunned that Inter would only pay £6million and Muntari for a player who eventually went to Barcelona for £22m.   Inter paid Portsmouth £13m for Muntari two years ago and they hope to recoup about £9m for a player who has struggled to hold down a starting place at the Italian champions. The 26-year-old's agent Fabien Piveteau insists Spurs' interest is genuine, but warned there were other suitors for a player who worked with Redknapp at Fratton Park. 'We will see what happend in January,' said Piveteau. 'He is happy at Inter, but he wants to play. Perhaps he will have more opportunities at another team. 'Tottenham? Yes, it's a possibility. But there are also others.'   I owe you one, Harry: Bale thanks Redknapp for transforming his careerHuddlestone cleared by UEFA over elbow claim from Twente striker JankoEXCLUSIVE: Expect riots if Spurs move into 2012 stadium, warns SullivanTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
