Bullard on the mend

Jimmy Bullard has revealed that his rehabilitation from a knee injury is progressing positively. The Hull City midfielder has been out of action since rupturing his cruciate ligament on his Tigers debut in January.Bullard has suffered lengthy spells on the sidelines with knee problems in the past, but admits he has found his latest setback hard to take.He is, however, looking forward to making his eagerly-anticipated return to action and hopes to take another step towards achieving that target in the next few weeks."It's been a nightmare start to be honest," said Bullard, who joined Hull from Fulham during the winter transfer window."For your new club, to get out there and play 30 minutes and then wake up the next day and your knee's like a balloon, it isn't a great start and you know something's wrong. "But the boys have been fantastic and the club, the manager and the chairman, have got behind me and backed me. Backed me in a big way. "It's not been easy. A couple of months ago I was struggling, they were dark times, but now I am getting closer. "I feel like I can kick a ball and I am getting closer to running - perhaps in a couple of weeks. I set myself little targets and hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be running."
