Arsenal boss Wenger hot on the trail of Vieira academy kid Mbodj

Arsenal are weighing up a £3million January move for Tromso midfielder Kara Mbodj. The 20-year-old is a graduate of Patrick Vieira's Diambars Academy in Senegal and has been impressive this season, earning fine reviews from Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley. Impressed: Kara Mbodj Tromso are aware of Arsenal's interest and Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the 6ft 3in midfielder's progress since he was at the Senegal football school. Mbodj, who can also play in defence, has been one of the league's stars during his debut season in Norway and Arsenal scouts plan to continue watching him up until December. Arsenal have South African Young Player of the Year Siyanda Xulu, 18, on trial from Mamelodi Sundowns while Zambian defender Emmanuel Mbola, 17, is on a second trial.
