Sunderland eye midfield duo Jan Polak and Jaroslav Plasil

Sunderland are on the trail of Czech Republic midfielders Jan Polak and Jaroslav Plasil.Manager Steve Bruce wants to add more attacking flair to his midfield and take the weight off striker Darren Bent.Sunderland scouts have watched the two players recently and are scheduled to watch them in action again against Scotland on October 8. He almost joined Galatasaray in the summer but instead was persuaded to sign a one year contract extension tying him to the club until 2012.Plasil, 28, is at Bordeaux and is more attack minded. He can also play left sided midfield.
