Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon was over the moon with his side as they soared up to 10th in League Two on the back of a 1-0 win at Torquay.
Striker Marvin Morgan scored the 86th-minute winner, latching onto a throughball to slot home past the advancing Scott Bevan.
The winner came after Shots had weathered a second-half storm from the home side, with keeper Jamie Young making superb saves to deny Eunan O'Kane and Chris Zebroski.
Dillon said: "It is a great three points against probably against one of the best teams at closing down that I have seen at any level. I thought they were terrific."
