Founding Hillsborough tragedy committee member Joan Traynor dies, aged 77

Joan TraynorA FOUNDING member of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, who lost her two sons in the disaster, has died, aged 77.Joan Traynor suffered a sudden heart attack at her home in Prenton just before she went to bed.The committee treasurer was one of the bedrocks of the group, which has campaigned for justice since the tragedy in 1989.Today her devoted husband Jimmy said his wife was hugely liked and respected by all who met her. The 81-year-old told the ECHO: 'I took Joan up on the stairlift and into the bedroom.'I asked her if she wanted to go to the bathroom and she said yes.'I had hold of her hand when she looked at me and dropped to the floor. I was talking to her one minute, and then she was gone.'It was a great shock.'Joan died on August 8 and her funeral took place at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Birkenhead.
