Tottenham on the trail of Real Madrid flier Arjen Robben

And reports in Spain claimed the north London club were competing with Stuttgart for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, another Dutch player at Real. Robben, the former Chelsea winger, admitted on Wednesday night that Tottenham had made inquiries about taking him back to the Premier League. Robben is with the Spanish giants in Ireland ahead of their friendly against Shamrock Rovers. Robben's agent is his father, Hans, and the player said: "I have heard of their interest and my dad has had some contact with Spurs and they are a great club but at the moment I am happy at Madrid and I will stay there." However, Madrid would be prepared to let Robben leave and while making it clear he is happy, Robben added: "I think I will stay but nothing is always a 100 per cent sure." Huntelaar is in talks with both Tottenham and Stuttgart and would prefer a move to the Premier League, according to reports in Spain. Spurs also remain keen on Sheffield United's Kyle Naughton but the defender had talks with David Moyes, the Everton manager, yesterday.
