Tottenham set to offer Inter Milan's Patrick Vieira payasyougo deal

Inter Milan are said to have given their consent to Harry Redknapp to begin negotiations with the 33-year-old who could join on a free transfer. According to the Daily Mail, Vieira would be expected to accept a significant pay cut in order to prove his commitment to the club, who are offering a pay-as-you-go contract worth around £35,000-a-week, a deal sources in Italy claim the Frenchman is willing to agree to. "This is not about money, this is about a chance to play," the paper quotes a source close to the player as saying. "He has great memories of his time in London at Arsenal but that is in the past. "The deal is not completed but he has an open mind. He is not afraid of the challenge from Spurs." Vieira himself has recently admitted that a change of circumstance could well be on the horizon for him after revealing how he intends to play a role for France in next year's World Cup. When asked last week about the speculation linking him with a return to the Premier League, Vieira said: "I have a year left on my contract with Inter. I want to play week-in week-out to prepare well for the World Cup in South Africa. "I will definitely know about my future very soon." Birmingham have already been ruled out of signing Vieira but Tottenham still face competition from Sunderland, Lyon and Paris St Germain.
