Turner delighted as Shrews go top

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner hailed the standard of football on show as his side moved to the top of npower League Two with a comfortable 3-1 win over Northampton. A second-half brace from the impressive Jake Robinson secured victory for the Shrews after Kevin Thornton's free-kick had cancelled out Matt Harrold's 12th-minute strike. Turner said "The general performance, the result, everything about it, has been very good because it was a very good advert for League Two football in which both sides tried to pass it. "I think that the general quality of the division is improving with every season. That was highlighted by the manner in which both teams tried to play." On the strike pairing of Robinson and Harrold, Turner added: "They are doing extremely well, their job is to score goals, hold the ball up and create movement so it's just pleasing to see players doing the job they're supposed to do."
