Bad-boy Barton makes Birmingham wait before deciding Toon fate

Joey Barton will wait to see what happens at Newcastle United before deciding whether to go on loan to Birmingham City.Waiting game: Newcastle midfielder Joey BartonThe controversial midfielder will stay until the ownership and managerial issues are settled at St James's Park, resisting overtures from Alex McLeish to  jump back into the Premier League.Barton is undecided about a move to St Andrew's, despite a temporary deal being  offered by McLeish. But it appears that not only is Birmingham's offer to part-pay Barton's wage  unacceptable to the Tynesiders, that also the player himself is likely to stay put.The door may not even be closed should Mike Ashley sell in the next few days.  Barton is hoping to broker a truce with Alan Shearer, the would-be prefered  managerial choice of all the parties interested in taking control.Barton is now settled in the north-east and does not want to unnecessarily uproot, believing that his interests may be better served by getting some matches under his belt for the Magpies in the Championship.  Birmingham boss McLeish eyes loan deal for Newcastle bad boy BartonNewcastle put Martins and Coloccini up for sale in bid to slash £65m wage billWait for Newcastle sale almost over as Magpies chief confirms £100m offer
