Alessandro Diamanti completes £1.8m move from West Ham to Brescia

Back home: Diamanti has left West Ham for ItalyWest Ham have confirmed the sale of striker Alessandro Diamanti to Italian side Brescia. The Serie A new boys have paid £1.8million for the 27-year-old, who joined the Hammers a year ago from Livorno. Another £245,000 will be payable if Brescia secure their top-flight status for another year. Diamanti scored eight goals in 29 appearances last season, with four coming from the penalty spot. With Avram Grant having replaced compatriot Gianfranco Zola as manager, the Italian was seemingly behind Carlton Cole, Luis Boa Morte and Frederic Piquionne in the pecking order. He made a brief appearance from the bench in the first match of the season against Aston Villa but was keen to move back to his homeland.
