Reid keen to impress

Reuben Reid intends to make the most of his chance at Walsall and build on his man-of-the-match debut performance. The 22-year-old sealed the Saddlers' first home win of the season with his 69th minute winner against Plymouth. Now the striker, on-loan from West Bromwich Albion after failing to establish himself at the Hawthorns, is focussed on securing a first team place. "I'm happy that my debut went well," he told the club's official website. "It was nice to get three points against a good team and I was also quite pleased with my own performance. "From my own personal point of view I need to get back into the swing of things. I've not played as much as I would have liked over the past year. "I am thankful to Walsall for giving me this opportunity and I just want to work hard and prove I am worthy of a place in the team."
