Blackburn turn to Chelsea rookie Di Santo as Santa Cruz heads to Man City

Chelsea striker Franco Di Santo is set to join Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan. Rovers have inquired about the 20-year-old Argentinian whose chances at Stamford Bridge have been limited by Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. Di Santo joined the Blues from Chile's Audax Italiano in 2008 but there would be no problems with a work permit as the striker has an Italian passport. At 6ft 4in, Di Santo would be an ideal replacement for Roque Santa Cruz who is set to leave Blackburn this summer for Manchester City in a £15 million deal. City manager Mark Hughes wants the transfer completed before he goes on holiday later this week.
