By George! Elokobi commits to Wolves

Cameroon-born defender George Elokobi has signed a new three-year contract at Wolves, keeping him at Molineux until 2013. The deal also includes the option for a fourth year to be taken by the club should they wish to further prolong their association with him.Elokobi still had 12 months left to run on his current contract at Molineux, but has extended that agreement by two-and-a-half years.Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is delighted to see the full-back put pen to paper, having witnessed him battle his way back from a serious knee injury that threatened to end his career in August 2008."I'm absolutely delighted that George has earned himself a new contract which is a credit to his sheer hard work and determination," he told the club's official website. "He's come back from a career-threatening injury and got back on the last day of the season we were promoted."He's then contributed to our survival in the Barclays Premier League."George is such a great character around the place and is an inspiration to anyone who ever gets injured in terms of how he has come back."He is a really valued and respected member of the squad and I'm delighted to have him signed up. He's got better and better and has just got a great desire to improve all the time."
