Boateng completes double switch

AC Milan have signed former Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on loan from Genoa with a view to buying him outright next summer. Boateng only signed for Genoa this afternoon from Portsmouth with the deal already in place to send him straight on to Milanello, where the 23-year-old had held talks with the Italian clubs. The Germany-born Ghana international, who impressed at the World Cup, joins until the end of the forthcoming campaign with the Serie A giants having negotiated an option to take him permanently in a year's time.Boateng's move to Genoa was officially confirmed today on the Portsmouth website, with chief executive David Lampitt saying: "We wish Kevin all the best. He played an important role last season and we thank him for that."Milan were impressed with Boateng's performances at the World Cup while Genoa could then make a healthy profit if he does well at the San Siro.
