Wolves set for Cassidy capture

Wolves seem set to beat West Brom and Everton in the race to sign promising Airbus UK striker Jake Cassidy. The Baggies and Toffees were also thought to be in the hunt for the 17-year-old.But Mick McCarthy's side have made an offer to see off the competition after the striker impressed on trial while at Molineux last week. The teenager played for the club's academy side against Coventry before scoring a solo goal in Wolves development team's 4-2 win over AFC Telford. His impending switch comes after the striker, who only signed from Llandudno Junction earlier this summer, has been in tremendous form for Airbus in pre-season, scoring seven goals in six outings, including one against Everton.Airbus secretary Phil Bailey told the Express & Star: "We are currently in negotiations with Wolves and there could be further developments early next week."We will not be publishing the amount of the offer, but there will be performance-related sums based on appearances built into any agreement."He's due to undergo medicals prior to any agreement being finalised."Jake is a great talent and he has developed greatly in the time he has been with us."
